South Shades Crest School opened in August, 1995 serving students and parents on the southwestern part of the county. Special programs are available for children needing additional help as well as those needing academic enrichment. 
Yearly events are sponsored by the school and include Spring Fling, Red Ribbon Week, Youth Art Month, and a Career Fair.
